  • Promotion of the economic, social and humanitarian development of the member companies, strengthening of the team spirit and image building for optimum social acceptance.

  • Ensuring of equal opportunities for the member companies, especially by eliminating or avoiding habits, practices and innovations which endanger a fair competition between the members.

  • Promotion of cooperations and joint activities; elaboration of market-oriented and forward-looking concepts for the branch.

  • Promotion of public and private education in the interest of the member companies, support of the training of their employees, promotion of vocational training, especially regarding apprenticeship and the relevant examination system.

  • Co-operation with the trade and economic administration.

  • Maintenance of member files and statistical information.

  • Conclusion of collective agreements for regulating working conditions, wages and salaries.

  • Publicity and public relations for the Association and its members.

  • Consulting and information in the interest of our member companies.

  • Collaboration with the Austrian Economic Chamber in order to develop and implement strategical issues of general economical interest and to define the policy of the Economic Chamber, if no specific interests of our Association are negatively affected.

  • Elaboration of non-committal recommendations for the observance of guidelines for calculations and fees.

  • Balancing of interests with regard to other professional associations.

  • Support for certain member companies within the sphere of activities of our Association, if there are no conflicting common interests.

  • Establishment of codes of conduct.

  • Review of government bills.

  • Petitions, expertises and statements on the following subjects, if they affect our members' interests:

    • organization of public institutions dedicated to the promotion of the Austrian economy and the vocational training system;

    • customs and trade policy, including integration policy, promotion of foreign trade, including trade fairs and exhibitions;

    • financial and pay policy;

    • price and antitrust policy;

    • environmental policy;

    • civil and criminal law;

    • patent law, trademark protection, copyright law;

    • trade law;

    • general aspects of the laws on electricity and water supply;

    • industrial law, protection of blue- and white-collar workers, social security;

    • tax laws;

    • vocational and extended training; examination schedules;

    • public procurement;

    • publicity and public relations.
