President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber

In a globalised world we are increasingly interconnected - entrepreneurs, employees, communities and families. We are all part of an economy be it on an international, national, regional or local level. Economy is the backbone of our society.

Digitization has brought and will continue to bring fundamental changes to all professions and areas of economic activity, some yet undeveloped or even unknown.

It is clear that the future working life for the younger generation will be characterized by rapid change, increased project work, shorter employment and independent phases. In this future environment that engaging with an education system that builds upon a solid basic education to promote attitudes, which foster curiosity, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, will be essential prerequisites for a successful and satisfied working life.

We believe that business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills are indispensable and can facilitate entry into professional life in many fields of study. For this reason, we have developed the Entrepreneur’s Skills Certificate® to help teachers teach these key skills. As a result, the entrepreneurs, employers and employees of tomorrow will have gained their first experiences of business life during their school experience and formation.
