We've created a high-resolution virtual 360° panorama for air-traffic controllers that replaces physical concrete airport towers, which cost millions to build and maintain. One of the key USPs of our digital tower solution is that it makes air-traffic controllers location-independent and automates the air-traffic control process. Automation can dramatically cut the cost of air-traffic control and noticeably reduce delays and environmental pollution – all without compromising safety.
Air-traffic control is surprisingly conservative. An analog radio and binoculars are still the main tools that many air-traffic controllers use. Our digital tower solution is a real opportunity to revolutionise air-traffic control. It can be used to manage smaller airports remotely and to provide assistance, including visualisation support for existing towers.
Frequentis, is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Such 'control centre solutions' are developed and marketed by Frequentis in the business sectors Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire brigade, ambulance services, shipping, railways).
