Wood-based impact bar for cars
About the Project
© HOLZCLUSTER STEIERMARK GMBH
Twenty partners in science and business have made it possible to simulate and predict how wood will behave in different applications. The aim is to use leading expertise in the world to tap into new uses for wood, including in the automotive industry. Development of a wood-based impact bar for cars is proof of the innovative role that wood can play in automotive construction and the positive impact this could have on our environmental footprint.
The results of WoodC.A.R.'s research answer questions like: What vehicle concepts will be needed in the future so that we can achieve our climate targets? And what role will wood be able to play in these concepts? The cross-innovation approach and networking among industries is making it possible to completely rethink the use of wood and develop products for a sustainable future.
